Were any other members of this forum fans of the Impala SS? That car looked dynamite when done in all-black. The new Impala is also a great design visually, and Chevy has announced it will put into production the blacked-out look it showed as a prototype in 2014. Called the Midnight Edition, the car has about as much black as any car can. Here is the list from Chevy:

  • Jet Black exterior, including body color mirrors
  • 19-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels with black accents
  • Black grille and surround
  • Front and rear black Chevrolet bowtie
  • Jet Black interior
  • Sport pedals
  • Black rear spoiler.

Chevy will build a few 2015 model year Midnight Edition Impalas with the base engine, but says that it will be available as a broader option for the 2016 model year.

I though the same thing. Glad I'm not the only one. That car deserves gunmetal gray or black satin wheels.

Ditto!

Still...it's a sharp lookin' car.

Looks like a black Toyota 4 door family economy car. Debadge this thing and you couldn't prove it's a Chevy.

True ... I think that's an Avalon , but who cares or can tell? GM's look-a-like Toyota just looks like any other non-descript foreign blob. No menacing.
