Sea Foam in FUEL quieted the lifters?

Recommended Posts

Lifter noise back, worse as before, lil bit of seafoam added last tank but doesnt seem to be working its magic anymore, also added a tad bit to oil. Going to keep anally changing my oil every 1k miles using treatments and full synthetic dexos. Standby for more info

IIRC, Seafoam shouldn't be left in the crankcase long term. Recommended usage is to dump it in the crankcase right before you change the oil, drive 25-50 miles, and change your oil. YMMV.

Putting Seafoam in the gas tank isn't going to help the lifters. There is no way it can reach the lifters unless it washes down a cylinder and gets into the crank case. And gets pumped through the oil galleries If Seafoam could get to the lifters from the gas tank so can gasoline. Which would mean that the gasoline is washing all the oil away. Using Seafoam in the gas tank will help keep the valves clean unless it is Direct Injection Engine. Which means the fuel doesn't hit the back of the valves. No fuel to the back of the valves means no cleaning valves.
