Transfer case control motor

Coppertop

Question

I have 2004 gmc push button 4x4 with auto,my lights on dash button would come and go for a couple months, when lights where on the 4wd would work e celebrate and go in 4wd quick but then switch to 2wd and shut truck off lights would go out I. 4wd,and truck would suddenly switch into like a 4wd gear in transfercase down the highway, and recently truck switched into neutral gear in transfercase leaving my house with that said I have taken TC out and apart and back together seems good I have tested dash button with ohm reader to GM specs seems spot on and I have TC motor and tested on battery just by tapping positive wire and motor moves I never hold it so it would turn to far,now I've been told that it might be TCCM Causing my issues? Is there a way to test this or is it still a faulty motor or button I haven't put TC back in truck as I'm away working just want to get some advice thanks I know I should try and get it to a dealer but maybe someone had same issues or know how thanks scott

No definitely before you waste your money having a dealership look at it, find a mechanic or anybody who has one of the better scanners and it will tell you what's wrong

I'm actually having 4x4 problems myself in my 99 suburban and I do need a new tccm, just thought I'd say that

Codes only tell the area of concern not what's wrong , following the code chart is required , not guessing

You scan the TCCM for codes and follow the code , ya don't just do your own thing , it's not how it's done ,

Seems you can tear stuff apart and put it back together , now get yourself educated on the electrical side of the system ,

Alldata.com if you have no service information
