2011 yukon XL, C0253, C0710 (steering pos sen), stabl/trac warning

Question

Have stabilitrak and traction control warnings. Pulled codes and have C0253 (steering centering error), and C0710 (steering position signal error). There is a service bulletin on this that corrossion at the connector seems to cause high resistance and throw the codes. However, I have also read that some are replacing the sensor. I am curious if the plug clean up is typically fixing these or if they usually need a sensor?

I have pulled and reseated the connector but warning still appear. I am not yet sure if I need to reset DTCs or if this will be self resetting?

Also, correct if wrong, but the steer sensor will also assist in the variable steer torque assist? I note that this car seems to react VERY quick at highway speeds. Enough that I have to really watch how I drive it compared to some other trucks but was figuring this was a tire issue.

Clear the codes all you want if they come back then The code is a hard code and needs to be diagnosed properly or guess and throw parts at it

Stabilitrac lights are on because of the steering codes as a default , stab can't work without steering data , both systems are disabled

I don't see how I am guessing at anything. I do not believe the Bosch 1300 has the ability to display live sensor data from the BCM to determine the voltage states of the steering sensor. Would have to drive to plug into a techii to look closer at it.

I am just wondering if the control module, wiring, etc has any real concern.

Yes, I realize the stab is disabled due to this. Note quite sure on the traction but I guess the steer angle will determine the turn radius thus wheel speed so probably.
