Vehicle weight MCO vs tire and loading sticker

Recommended Posts

My MCO states that the shipping weight of the vehicle is 7389 and the tire and loading sticker indicates the max payload is 2323.

10k-2323=7677 and 7677-7389=288lbs.

Diesel averages 7.1lbs/gallon.

36*7.1=255.6

DEF is 9.2lbs/gallon

5.3*9.2=48.76

255.6+48.76=304.36

So we end up with a net difference of 16lbs.

Read on another forum that the vehicles ship with ~2 gal of DEF.

2*9.2=18.4

I test drove my truck with ~ 1/4 tank and 29 miles on the odo.

36/4=9

9*7.1=63.9

63.9+18.4=82.3

29/11.5*7.1=18

So....7389-82.3-18=7289 (actual vehicle dry weight?)

7289+304=7593

7677-7593=84

My next step is to weigh the truck full of fuel and DEF and get an actual weight. Only issue will be the spray on bed liner, bed extender and roll-x which will add a little weight.

Not trying to fix a problem...just trying to put numbers in context.
