Service Stabilitrak issue on my 2009 GMC 2500HD

My 2009 GMC 2500HD has 30K miles on it and since about 10K miles every now and then (when I make a left turn) the Service Stabilitrak alarm will go off and light the light on the dash. If I turn the truck off and on again it's out. I also noticed this happened recently when I put the tilt wheel down! Someone said a sensor on the left wheel but now I'm thinking steering colum switch of some type since I dropped the steering wheel down and it went off. It don't seem like I loose anything when this goes off. Since I don't drive it much it's not huge on my list but I would like to get it sorted out. thanks!
