Looking for Feedback from Bak Roll-X / Revolver X2 Users

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm needing to get into a new tonneau for my '14 Sierra. I am considering the new Revolver X2 but, since it's just an updated roll-x I would like to know from users of the Roll-X, how do you like your cover?

I'm looking for something that's mostly water tight, if a few drops get in after a heavy rain I don't mind but, I don't want several ounces puddling in the truck bed. I really like the look of the roll-x and I don't think you can beat the functionality of a rolling cover for full bed access.

Thanks for your feedback!

FWIW my other serious contender is an Extang Solid Fold 2.0.

I love my Roll-X have had it on for 2 years now. 1st I love that it doesn't need any drains, so no worries there. 2nd, because there's no hinges, I've never had water come into the bed. 3rd, it's really easy to roll up and get full access back, plus when it's rolled up, it doesn't block the back window to drive. Lastly, because it's metal underneath, someone can't just cut into it so I feel pretty confident having stuff back there. Obviously it's not going to stop a criminal determined to get in there by any means and wrecking the whole thing, but it's enough of a deterrent.

Another reason that I love the Roll-X that I forgot to mention, you can open and close the tailgate without having to pop the tonneau up. Many Tonneaus make you pop up the tonneau, close the tailgate, then close the tonneau. Becomes a pain in the ass, especially if you have someone closing it that doesn't know that's how it's supposed to close (ruins the seal). With the Roll-X it's no prob.

said this in aother thread... it's well worth the $$ in my opinion. dry, secure, easy to open, roll up and doesn't block rearviews,

no cannister to deal with. Was easy to install and have not had any issues to complain about.

I've had mine for over one year...the only recurring issue I have is that the wing nut on the left side rubs my amp bed extender slightly. Minor water leaks around the tailgate and front corners but none from the side rails or the bulkhead.

I love mine , I have had it for a year . Looks just as good as day I installed it . The ONLY issue I have ever had was last winter it was so cold it did not roll up real easy a couple times . Was froze up .

I've had mine for a year and love it. A little water does get in when I go through the car wash and snow got in the bed this past winter - but I think that's because I plow snow.

I see the OP is in Cleveland so it gets as cold by you as it does by me, so expect it to be difficult to roll open when it gets really cold. It's such a pain that I just crawl under it rather than struggle to roll it open when it's really cold.

I had mine installed and they used two thicknesses of weather stripping under the front to get a better seal - something you may need to do if you get one.

Mine is great had it since Oct 14 Only water leaks are through the rear stake pocket/handle but only drops and few drops can get in from the top of the tailgate.

Thanks for the feedback guys I think I am going to wait for the truxedo titanium to hit the street though.

One thing I would warn about that Truxedo Titanium, is that yes the top is metal just like the Roll-X however it looks like they're still using velcro to secure the rails. That's not going to be secure and definitely should be easy to break into. With the Roll-X, it actually rolls into the hinge of the rails, so you can't lift it up by the sides. Just an fyi
