What aggressive AT tire for 2015 Sierra?

Hey guys,

Looking for recommendations for a set of 33' AT tires that are aggressive looking.

I live in Central/Northern Alberta where it gets cold in the Winter and we also get lots of snow. 90% of the miles I'll put on are highway. I'm looking for a tire that would be pretty good in the snow and also good with dry conditions on the highway. I really have no interest in running a MT since most of my driving will be above 110 km/hr (65 ish mph) and I don't want the excessive road noise and/or major losses in fuel economy.

I was leaning towards the Toyo AT2, but have read on this forum that they're not great in snow...

Any recomendations on what good year-round aggressive looking tires I can run? They have to have the snow-flake rating as well.

Other tires I'm leaning towards are the Nitto trail grapplers and Goodyear duratracks.

Thanks!

The Toyo AT2 got me around in the two snows we had last winter just fine. Did not do a lot of driving in snow last winter. Not a bad problem to have... I would definitely recommend the AT2. Quiet on interstate, plenty of dirt and snow traction...

I'm in the same same situation as yourself. Right now, my front runner is a set of Duratracs. I've know a lot of people that run them and find very few who complain about them (in person or online). I don't know if you're needing them but you can also get them without getting LTs. Saves a lot on weight if you're usually running empty and not needing the LTs

Add cooper at/3 load c range tires to your list. Not much snow here in CA but went I do play in it not any problems at all. I have about 35k on my set now and they still have plenty of tread left. I do notice a slight hum but only if I really listen.

I also run the Discoverer AT3 on both of my pickups and they have been great. Snow, ice, mud, doesn't matter, they always perform great. They have a deep tread (16/32 on my LT tires) and clean out well. Both sets are still like new and I plan on buying them again when the time comes. I highly recommend them, best AT tires I have ever had and they are priced right.

Same here, this is my first set of Coopers and I have to say they are great. I can't image BFG TKo's being any better. Next up would be the Toyo Open Country A/T, I had the first version and they were good, but not as good as my coopers. No expereice with the A/T-2.

I have Cooper at3s on my 4wd. They have quite a few miles on them and I can say they are starting to hum on the highway. But man, they have dug through some serious snow.

Granted, in this picture I had chains on the back because I had just recently come up a really steep, shaded hill. But as you an see, the snow was really high. Like up to bumpers. I put the chains on before I started up the hill because I didn't want to risk getting hung up, but I might not have needed them. The at3's did a good job. They have some new tires out, the Cooper ATW's that are supposed to be even better. However, they have been identified as noisy. We shall see.

I've been very happy with my Cooper AT3's too. They are awesome in the snow. I have over 45k miles on them, and they still have lots of tread left. My only complaint is that I wish they looked more aggressive.

Are you running LTs? I'm wondering how much tread difference is between P-Metre and LTs

Mine are 6-ply (load range C) LT's. Unlike the Toyo AT2's, the tread pattern is the same on the P-rated and LT-rated Coopers. The only difference is the tread depth. The LT's have deeper tread.
