Hot weather sunny wax

Recommended Posts

Recently moved to El Paso,TX from VA. My normal wash and wax is just not holding up very long. I feel as though the ICE synthetic liquid I have been using does not last nearly as long as it did in other parts of the country. Truck sits out because the garage is not long enough and I'm trying to protect it since this truck will be with me awhile.

Is there anything you hot weather guys use that lasts a bit longer or is better at protecting paint and the truck in this type of 90-100 degree weather with no clouds in the sky most of the time?

Heat resistance is mroe a characteristic of a sealant. Anything in the wax family, or with a wax base is going to be suceptible to degredation from surface temps north of 150* - which is actually pretty low on an exterior surface on even a mild summer day.

I'd recommend something like our Liquid Paint Sealant - its an acrylic resin base and the evap point is tested closer to 300* or more, so heat won't cause premature failure like it will with wax. My daily drivers get a coat of Liquid Paint Sealant every 6 months after a full detail, then I top that every 3-4 washes with a coat of our H2O Guard & Gloss to maintain it. The two play really well together and H2O is so fast and easy to apply after a wash its a no brainer for sealant boosting.
