intermittant fluid to rear wheels

Recommended Posts

I have a 99 silverado 2 wheel drive extended cab. Hit the brakes the other day, pedal went to the floor. Truck still stopped but you had to push really hard on the pedal. Checked for blown line, no leaks or fluid loss. Replaced master cylinder, started to pump up pedal for bleeding, blew brake line. Replaced line, Getting good fluid to front brakes but intermittant fluid to rear. Truck will stop but pedal is low and has to be pumped up. I bench bled the master cylinder and bled it at the master with the truck running. Any ideas?

Thanks, Tom

My next-door neighbor is a mechanic. We re-bled the whole system except the ABS. He thinks that I got a bad master cylinder from NAPA. It's happened to him before. They're closed until Monday so I can't exchange it until then. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Great forum, had some time to look around it last night. Lots of info and guys willing to help. Thanks for the help so far.

Thanks, Tom
