Anyone with window vent visors?

Recommended Posts

I am thinking about picking up a set of these, but I want to know from those of you who have the GM accessory part installed on all 4 windows.

Will installing these cause any additional wind noise while driving on the highway.

Thanks!

I've used both WeatherTech and AVG vent visors and had no bad wind noise from either one. GM's are probably the same if installed correctly and would be a lot ckeaper than WT.

I believe the GM ones are made by AVS, but I could be wrong.

I would suggest in-channels no matter what brand you get. I had the stick on AVS type on my 98 which was on it when I bought it. Over time the driver side one became unstuck and wouldn't stay. It would be a bad noise on the interstate. So when I got my '14 I got in-channels and love them. They're the Weathertech ones both front and rear and haven't had any issue. I like the ones I got because they don't use tape at all, while I think I've seen some in-channels use tape to help stay in place.

The GM official ones are made by Lund. I have them coming on my truck.

Thanks guys!

When you say in channel does that mean they install on the outside of the rubber window gasket? So the glass still rolls up into the rubber just like before?

The glass will be against the visor. You won't have any issues with being sealed or putting the windows up as long as they're installed correctly.

AVS and Lund are both owned by the same people. Go on their site and you'll see. Even if you search AVS it will go to Lund's site and both brands are on the site.

It never rains in California.

Even if it never rained at all I'm still glad I live where I do and not in Cali. Hell I'd rather go through a hurricane once per week than live in sunny Cali lol. Never been there, but Cali honestly seems to be the only state where there's so many residents that hate living there, especially if you're into cars but that's not the only reason.

California is THE place to be if you're into cars. Proven history of that. It's not debatable. No where in the world comes close. I can see more exotic cars, antiques, hot rods, built trucks, etc., in my town than can be found in many states. This is the center of the automotive world. Any automotive business that wants to make it big has to make in the big show...California. Specifically, Southern California.

I think you're mistaken in how many people hate it here. You must be confusing it how many people that don't live here, hate California. Otherwise the damn population would be lower. LOL.

Come on out on vacation. I'll show you around.
