P2038 Reductant Inj Air Press Sensor Circ Range/Perf

Question

I bought my truck used 56,000 miles on it about 3 weeks ago. Today the orange engine light and traction light came on engine started running rough. I doubt dealer reset error light as it has been about 300 mikes driving since I purchased the truck. I reset the light and truck ran good again. What does the error code "probably mean" in layman' terms?

Ok I looked under the dash of a 2007 Silverado and the wires are for the gas pedal pig tail off of the brake/gas pedal harness. Can't believe the dealer left those wire ends exposed like that.

After several days of driving I think that the P2138 and P2122 issue is resolved. An issue that doesn't affect the engine running was Service Traction Control and Service Stabilitrak would come on when I drove the truck. I was looking at things and I removed the black plastic cover from the fuse box under the dash to the left of the brake pedal and found one of the connectors that was plugged into the fuse box (top right multiwire plug) was loose and was barely stuck in the fuse box. I pressed the wire connector in tightly and hopefully that takes care of the issue.

Ok. I just realized how badley my wires were chopped. I am totally missing some wiring it appears and I have no brake lights. I have tail lights and blinkers but no brake lights. The wiring coming from the brake light switch goes up and connects to a wiring harness. The harness has one end heading towards the fuse panel at the left end of the dash. The harness end headed to the right is chopped off right at the clip near my gas pedal. I don't see any wires for that end to connect to. Anybody here post a photo of their wiring?

Edited to correct typos and to add spell correct sucks.

It means there is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC)

It has to be pulled and diagnosed by a technician or. Yourself if you have service information and some idea what the chart is asking ,( experience)

If not then see a local garage or dealer , I don't recommend throwing parts at people's veh's but some people here don't mind it at all which makes me scratch my head sometimes lol

Today per telephone call from the service adviser, the mechanic reran both wires to the gas pedal sensors to the wire harness. Apparently they ran one wire and still had an issue. They then discovered that there was a second sensor in the gas pedal assembly (I guess I thought they would know there were 2 sensors) and the error was possibly coming from the second wire. The mechanic replaced the second wire and the error codes stopped occurring. Total cost to me about $600.00. Still about $20,000 cheaper then a similarly equipped brand new truck.

I took VIN to dealer and the throttle position sensor recall was already performed at 55,000 miles with the transmission tube. I reset code and will see if it reoccurs.

I finally took my new to me truck to a dealer and according to their mechanic it appears the frequent P-2138 (sometimes 1x/month and up to 10/day) and P-2122 (4x since I had purchased the truck) codes appear to have to do with the previous owner having cut some wires in the dash area of the vehicle probably while there was an after market stereo installed.

I get the final report hopefully today/tomorrow morning so that I can get my truck back.
