Just bought a 2015 Silverado 1500 DC with the front bench. I love the underseat lock box for securing my weapon while I'm at work, but I am wondering where others are carrying their EDC's while driving. If you're like me, I remove my wallet and my EDC from my cozy partner if I'll be driving longer distances.

I don't have the deep center floor console so that's not an option. I have been considering a sticky holster just wedged in between the seats.

Factors-

1. Easy to access

2. Flexible, as I have 2 primary EDC's depending on the time of year. Glock 43 for summer and M&P 45C for cooler seasons.

Any feedback is appreciated. Pics would be helpful.

Never tired either one but the two options I like most are the under the steering column holster and some have done a holster on the front of the seat cushion. I personally keep it holstered on me.

I have looked at the under the steering column holsters, but wasn't sure how they fit because the plastic is pretty bulky on the '14-'15 models.

I usually keep it on me for short trips, but for long trips it can get uncomfortable. The other concern I have is that drawing from my right hip inside the vehicle isn't always the easiest thing to do.

I'll never have anything different it holds my glock 23, my springfield xdm, my judge, my keltec 380 and its fantastic!!! i can try to snap a photo of how i mounted it later.

Also, you'll see the velcro strap (i have only used it once when i was offroading to keep the pistol in place. other than that never had an issue.)

I noticed that if I pulled on the locked center console hard enough it would open. Which actually wasn't very hard at all. I transitioned to the lockable glove box for the truck gun (S&W 637). I also just looked at my buddys RAM with a gun vault in the center console which is way more secure than the cheap lock Chevy put on our Silverado.

I agree with your observation, I know it's not adequately secure, but I figure that since the parking lot at work has armed security and more camera angles than a high end porno, it is more to prevent the boss from getting too nosy. He can have the truck searched, but I'm not unlocking anything inside without a court order. I refuse to be unarmed while commuting (Philly) despite being unarmed while on the job. But I sorta like the whole, getting paid part of my job, soooo...we all have to sacrifice from time to time.

Cool, but I don't want to drill into my console / dash. I do however have a full center console (all terrain model truck) and would like a secure place to store fun aside from locked glove box.

I have been debating this as well because I usually carry my .380 in my front pocket which makes it very difficult to get to if I need it. I also keep a back up gun in each of my vehicles and for my silverado I have been keeping my small 9mm in the center console (DC bench seat) but if it is locked it is pretty much useless because the key is hard to get in there.

Depending on how you carry (open/concealed) when I'm in the vehicle I carry Appendix. It's easily accessible and doesn't get uncomfortable on long drives. You just have to get passed the fact the barrel is at your groin, but as long as it's in the holster and nothing is in the trigger area you'll be fine. Been carrying like this for over three years now
