Question

Truck shuts off as soon as i put it in gear and after initial start-up. I've bought a new IAC and cleaned throttle body and replaced the gasket. Any ideas to what else i can check out to fix this problem?

Listen, I want to apologize to anyone that is offended by my inexperience in repairing vehicles. This is a forum, which sometimes provokes questions that may be minute to some. Is there a different forum that I can go to that these questions do not provoke someone. For those who have knowledge of my problem and would like to help, it would be greatly appreciated. The truck is operational and with this minor problem, i just wanted to see if there were others that had these similar issues. It's a Chevy 1500, 350; 5.7 engine 2WD. I replaced the TPS yesterday and ran a scan which produce no codes. It idled fine but ever so often it shuts down when i come to a stop. It's probably worse when i put it in reverse.

Unless I missed it.... year model?

  • Drives:1990 Chevy truck

Check the battery terminals and your ground connections.

Check the vacuum hoses and connections.

How about spark plugs and wires? Distributor cap and rotor?
