Was on the Fence. Decided on '15 Sierra.

Recommended Posts

Been lurking here on the forums for a while. After much research and shopping, I pulled the trigger last week on a 2015 Sierra SLT CCSB 6.2L 4x4 in White Diamond Tricoat.

Almost waited for the 2016 Sierras to start filling the lots. Based on the pics I've seen so far, I'll confess I kinda like how GMC modernized the Sierra's front and rear for 2016. Not too shabby IMO.

The ruggedness of the 2014/15 is honestly just as appealing to me, though...

The GM Accessory Bed Rug is a hit by the way. Love it. Installed relatively easily (<2 hours) and looks great. I'll certainly follow up if there are any issues with it. Am looking at tonneau covers and have narrowed it down to the Roll-N-Lock and similar makes, but haven't firmly set my mind quite yet. Will make the call here in a few days once I'm done with my research.

While this is my daily daily driver for commuting to/from my office 90% of them time, it will see some towing occasionally in the near future. The wife and I are nearing retirement and wanted to get our feet wet with a half ton and light travel trailers. We'll trade up to an HD in a few years as we move towards full-time travel.

Got the 6.2L, Max Towing (3.42 rear and whatnot), Power Tow Mirrors, Texas Value Package, Nav, heated/cooled buckets, Preferred Package, Driver Alert Package, and a few other things. Every option I needed. Added the Bed Rug accessory myself today with my son. Again, fully satisfied. Am also fully satisfied with the entire pickup in general after a week of commuting in it. Truly a great overall effort by GM. I'll be sure to post as I begin towing with it. It'll haul plenty of household goods and garden products in the meantime.

congratulations, that is a fine truck! I saw either that one or one just like it at Classic Buick/GMC in Carrollton a while back but didn't quite have what I was looking for. I think the 6.2L option is a necessity, good choice. Love the bedrug also, that will be one of the first things I put in. My truck is ordered and is on the train being delivered to Classic...

Thanks! Ended up going to Classic in Granbury to get this one. Did a search in DFW for 6.2L and Max Towing in a Crew Cab and only got 3 hits--all 3 in Granbury at Classic. 2 in Black in 1 in White Diamond. Snagged the one you see here.

Congratulations on an informed, intelligent decision. You will not regret it.

Thanks! And I agree--no regrets.

Welcome to the club sir, beautiful truck with an even more beautiful color. I'm being a little biased haha but regardless you'll be happy you went with the Sierra!

Ps, you might as well log off the forums for good. There is an extremely serious and contagious case of mod bugs here and they will find you, eventually making everything in your wallet disappear. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Man, you ain't kidding. Am already looking at tonneau covers, installed the bed rug, am looking at the driver's side pull handle, need a sunshade, etc. I've promised myself I wouldn't do performance/exhaust mods (been there done that on another rig), so we'll see if I can hold out!

Nice truck and house!

Thanks! And regarding the house, am sure the wife would kindly thank you for the the compliment as she picked it out.

beautiful house! truck is nice too!

Much appreciated on both counts!

Awesome looking truck congrats! And I agree with 20Bowtie14 you made the right choice not waiting. From what I have seen I like the 2014 / 2015 trucks better IMO.

Sweet ride....love the Texas Edition badging too. 2 years ago I was looking for a new 2013 Tahoe with the Red Metalic Tint Coat paint for my wife. We called every dealership in Maine and no one had one (it was the end of the 2013 model year and we wanted to take advantage of the rebates). The only one we could find was a Texas Edition and it was in New Hampshire. I did think it was weird to find one up here in the New England area.
