07 silverado passenger windows and lock and drivers lock button

William Pendergraff

Question

I have an 07 silverado LT ext cab. I let a friend install a stereo for me while I was at work. He did not bother to use the $150 wiring harness I purchased, and since I have lost function of the passenger windows front and rear, the drivers door lock button, and the passenger door lock actuator. Also the passenger window buttons on the drivers side are unresponsive. you can hear clicking on passenger side when u press buttons, but windows no worky After a lot of troubleshooting, here are my findings.

1 I have relpaced any blown fuses

2 reinstalled factory radio, as well as repair wiring that he spliced into

3 Checked for power at passenger window switch and driver door lock button

4 all have power to the switches the drivers side door lock button reads 10v instead of 12. everything else is 12.3 with motor not running

5 disconected battery and hoped it would all reset (no such luck)

I am hoping there is a 25a fuse like the one hidden behind the interior fuse panel for the lt dr for the rt dr, and if not i am suspecting either a bad passeneger door module, or a fried circuit in the computer! So is the PDM actually in the passenger side switch, or somewhere else? I do know that fuse 9 should be to the PDM and Drivers door lock, but the fuse checks good and has 12.3 volts on boths sides.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and I'd love to resolve this issue before i have to put it all back together.

well sounds like i have a date with a few beers and a continuity tester lol... was hoping there was a more obvious solution, seems like the whole #9 circuit isn't functioning, but everything has power. Im just guessing that either the switch supplys the ground, or the switch is no longer a traditional switch, but a switch that closes a circuit telling the computer to supply the ground..... I really thought i had it figured out when i found the 25a hidden left door fuse, because when u take it out, it has the same stuff go out on the drivers side. was really hoping to find a 25a hidden right door fuse, but so far i haven't read about one existing anywhere. Will check continuity tomorrow and post my findings Could anyone tell me where the passenger door module is located?

Along with fuses you should check connections and connectors. When I bought my truck I had no controls on my driver's door. What had happened was a connector was pushed in on an angle and wasn't making proper connection. Once I reseated the connector all was well again. In short, make sure everything is plugged in and properly seated. May be helpful.

Yep - same thing happened with my '07, twice, just recently. My driver's side rear window became inop - figured the motor took a dump. First thing I did was pop the switch panel out, and the plug just fell right off! Pushed it back on, and all was well, shockingly enough - nothing is usually that easy around here ...

Then when I got my truck back from the body shop (after some jackass got pissed I was passing him and drove into the rear door & box), the passenger front window was inop. Same deal over there - the guys at the body shop must not have pushed it on hard enough. Go figure!
