Concept Truck of the Year is the Hyundai Santa Cruz

Channeling the El Camino and SSR, the new Santa Cruz Concept from Hyundai has won the Concept Truck of the Year Award at the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s. The North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards (NACVOTY) "...recognize those concept vehicles that have made the strongest impact in terms of automotive design, engineering and market responsiveness." About two dozen jurors vote on the nominees selected by journalists in North America.

 

Commenting on the Santa Cruz, Gary Vasilash, Automotive Design and Production editor-in-chief and NACVOTY juror, said “The Santa Cruz is what the light-truck category needs - loads of style for people without big loads.” We're just going to leave that quote there for you to analyze.

Is it the concept truck of the year because there were no other concepts to choose from?

Considering the LA show isn't until November I assume they counted 2014. That's when the Colorado ZR2 was shown.
