FNG to the 2500 High Country Duramax

Recommended Posts

For the last eight months, I've been contimplating trading my 2014 LTZ 1500 (pictured in my signature) for a 2500 Duramax, High Country.

The stars finally aligned this past Monday and I made this deal. I got 17% off of the MSRP of $66000 and 1.5K more on my trade than black book listed.

I normally tow a 22' 4200 pound parachute (pontoon boat) and it was hurting the 5.3 1500, that and I just couldn't deal with the struggle the 1500 was experiencing.

Anyway, I couldn't be more pleased with Duramax, it handles the boat as though it wasn't there.

Thanks to all! I have to say, I absolutley love it! Now it's time to personalize it, don't plan on doing much. I think I'll start with a bed cover, tail gate remote lock, window vents and the black bowties. I thought about possibly putting a set of AMP running boards, just not sure how they would look on passenger side due to the DEF tank.

Eventually I would like to either change out the plastic wood look trim or cover it with vinyl carbon fiber.

I've only put 150 miles on it since purchase, so far I'm averaging 15.8 MPG (DIC) all city driving.

Thanks again, more pictures to come.

Beautiful truck if I may say so myself !! Do yourself a favor, throw a Clear Bra on the front bumper. I ended having my front bumper redone and covered..

Thanks for the insight, I'll be sure to do that. Curious, were did you purchase yours?

Yours is a beaut also, I'm thinking of adding a bed cover on mine, and some Amp steps.

I bought mine at Bill Stasek Chevrolet in Wheeling IL. Good peeps there! I love the OEM tri-fold on the truck. I wouldn't mind the AMP boards, but with salt and snow, I figured I would be asking for trouble

I had the OEM trifold on my 1500 along with the AMP steps, loved them both.
