1996 k1500 5.7 lost power while driving

Driving along normal then truck felt sluggish and stalled, when I stopped and restarted engine started making tapping noise and when I hit 40 mph it felt like transmission was slipping and oil pressure drop to 0 and amp 's to 0 check gauge light started flashing then truck would go dead. There are no trouble codes or check engine light, all fluids at proper levels. Truck ran great til yesterday

How many miles on the truck? Sounds like you had some kind of sudden oiling system failure. Did it by chance overheat when this happened?

What was the oil level? Either really low or you had an internal failure of some sort.
