Tuners in Texas!!!

Recommended Posts

Does black bear do dyno and where will the clinic be?

He will. Most choose not to because it's really not the most accurate way to get what you want out of a tune. Most of his tunes will be done while driving to get the performance you are looking for.

I'm located in N. Fort Worth.

I tried to get the 6.2 8 speed tuned when i had 300 miles on the truck. But HP tuners didn't have the software yet to tune my truck. I'm sure they must have cracked it by now.

I'm not sure about hptuners. Justin uses EFI live and I know they can do both engine and 8 speed transmission.

You are better off getting a tune done based on real world driving. BBP is second to none tuning GM engines/transmissions. Go with Black Bear, you'll be glad you did.

So is a tune worthwhile on a stock set up? Anyone have any numbers?

Its not about numbers, its about driveability, you might gain 12hp at the rear wheels but it will feel like 100hp as the throttle body will open all the way, the spark curve will come in sooner, and the torque management will be turned off.

It is worth it just for a decent trans tune and to remove the dead pedal!
