Looking for a crate engine from Chevy with a broad, flat torque curve with peak torque low in the rev-band? Chevy has an engine for you. Unlike most crate engines this one is not a small block V8. Rather it is the LTG four-cylinder turbo used in the new 2016 Camaro.

Producing a peak 272 hp, the engine is more powerful than the majority of V8 engines Chevy installed in cars over the years. However, by today's V8 standards it looks a little anemic. That said, many older restoration projects are built for boulevard cruising and toque is the main ingredient in that endeavor. Tell us what you think about Chevy's newest engine as a project motor in a project car.

That's impressive for a 4-cyl with forced induction. If I read the graph correctly, there is about 225 ft-lbs of torque at merely 1,075 rpm.

Impressive, I can't wait to see what they are actually capable of with supporting mods/tune. I foresee a johnboat pulling skiers.
