To have to be careful and not rub or swivel your butt on, etc., the seats when getting in and out of your $70k vehicle is ridiculous. Prices of trucks went up, and so did problems..

Who said that price and quality could not be inversely proportional? GM is proving that they can.

Just noticed this on my 2014 AT with only 31000km

certainly a material/design flaw as I have noticed that these seats really condense when sitting in them and creates the creases and wear marks.

You can really hear the vinyl leather rubbing and squeaking on these trucks.

I knew I should have went with the perforated leather seats.

Taking to dealer tomorrow and hopefully having it replaced.

The seats are horrible.. I have fabric with in 3k they looked like they had 60k on them. I detail a handful of fully loaded Silveradop and Tahoe s couple of their seats are all jacked Up. Dealer says is normal for any truck with AC SEATS

51,000 miles in my 2014 W/T and no wear on my cloth seats. My wife had the tan leather on her 2014, it had 32,000 miles on it, worn but no rips but, we had to put seat covers on the front seats because my jeans kept turning the outer seat edge blue.

I had my Driver seat wearing out and staring to tear also. I have the Perforated Leather AC cooled seats. I took my truck into the dealer today for a bunch of service items while it was still under warranty (35,500 mi). This was one of the items on my list. When I called to check on the truck to see when it would be ready, I was shocked to find out they already repaired the seat. I assumed they were going to give me grieve about it or if they were going to fix it under warranty they would have to order the parts. This goes to show you GM knows this is a problem.

Reviving this thread. My All Terrain seat has ripped as well. Have an appointment to take it on Tuesday. Its right where every one else has had a problem. It is about the width of a dime. I use the side steps getting in as well as getting out, Im 6'1" 200lbs and have always been careful getting in and out. Like I said i never slide out of the seat. I dont carry a knife or anything in my back pocket. It is just super thin material and not good. My truck only has 23k miles on it. Ill see what they have to say and post back.

Also, if any one has had one repaired/replaced, has the new one lasted longer or held up better? At 23k miles I'm worried that if they fix it another rip will pop up at 60-75k and Ill be out of warranty.

Took the truck into the local dealer. They are just ordering in a new seat cover and going to call me back when it gets in and can install it.

Crap!!!

I found this thread late, however I don't think anything would've changed.

I've got a 2014 All Terrain and last week noticed the same exact tearing on my front passenger side seat. I'm @ 53k miles, but have only had the truck (since new) going on 2 years in Oct.

I bought a "leather patch" from Amazon to prevent it from tearing further... Is there a recall on this yet that anyone is aware of?

At 250 lbs with a bad back I bounce the crap out of the leather seat when I get in. Still no rips or tears or stitching separation. Use Mequier's leather treatment 1 x month to slide easier in jeans on the seat.

'16 construction looks slightly different than earlier, an extra stitched seam on the seat bolsters.

Had the seat cover changed a couple of years ago @ 11000 miles, Currently have 31,000 miles and no problems so far! I Always use Duragloss 222 Leather Conditioner to keep the surface slick. great stuff and smells like leather. Is this preventing a crack? Or is the replacement cover better quality....Who knows.
