GM-Trucks.com could not let National Dog Day go unrecognized. Not knowing any real police dogs, we conducted an intensive survey of the five dogs we do know, asking them, "You love the Tahoe, don't yah, don't yah!" while holding up a Beggin' Strip. 80% responded in a very positive way. Only Brian from Family Guy said he preferred the Toyota Prius.

Kidding aside, Chevy builds its trucks so that dogs have the best ventilation and cooling available. “Heat exhaustion is one of the top killers of police dogs,” said Michael Werges, sergeant-at-arms, North American Police Dog Association. Chevy removes the third row to create the kennel space for police dogs. The Tahoe is the only SUV available with upper and lower air vents to the third row according to Chevy.

This is one of the Tahoes used by the Local Drug Interdiction Task Force (which I have dubbed "the County Embarrassment Patrol" due to them being one of the agencies at the center of a News Channel 5 investigation of Policing for Profit, as well as the footage used in John Oliver's story on Civil Forfeiture)

Our guys roll the Crown Vic. I'm not sure what they'll go for once those are beat.

WOW! Still have Crown Vic's on the street, don't see many of those......Most have switched to Dodge SRT Chargers. They are actually pretty comfortable and they a fun to drive, especially when running speed on the highway.

It's either SRT Charger or the Ford Fusion in my area. PSP is running Ford Fusion, Exploders, & Expeditions.

Most local departments went with Dodge. In the winter time it's mostly Chevy Tahoe on the streets.

Nice to see they are using the Tahoe but that's an OLD department right there. I would imagine they don't have many foot pursuits while on duty.

Dickson PD and Dickson Sheriff have a mix of Old Crown Vics and newer Taurus Interceptors, THP has a mix of Crown Vics, Exploders, and Caprices. Whereas Dickson County Ambulance service and Greater Dickson Gas Authority have Excellent taste in vehicles, going with Silverado HDs and Express vans.
