Transmission leaking from rear into tcase?

Recommended Posts

Hey, just bought a 2007.5 gmc sierra 1500. has 5.3 in it, ive been losing trans fluid and today i was replacing the tcase and like 10 litres of red fluid came gushing out of it. anybody else have this problem? what seals do i need? any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

To keep the t case fluid and trans fluid separate, there is a seal around the transfer case's input shaft as well as a larger paper gasket that goes in between both mating surfaces. Replace those, as well as the tcase front and rear output seals.

okay so i took out my tcase, the output seal is just dripping constantly. no wonder why my tcase was full of fluid lol.

Has anybody changed this seal before? do i have to remove the output shaft or what? im actually stumped on how to change this seal. gm probably has some super special tool for this.

its a 4l60-e trans and mp3023 t-case (NQH)
