The 2016 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD will get a few thoughtful updates.

Digital Assist Steering

A new feature in 2016 is Digital Steering Assist. The idea is Silverado can and will automatically adjust for road crown while towing or empty. The feature is available on double cab and crew cab models but will not be available on WT or regular cab.

Midnight Edition

The Midnight Edition jumps up to LT trimmed HD pickups in 2016, although not many details have been released yet. Only these photos, taken at the State Fair of Texas gives us a hint of what's on tap. Chevy will also offer Silverado Custom for WT models, Custom Sport on LT and LTZ models and a Z71 Off Road package on 4WD LT and LTZ trim.

Updated MyLink

Silverado HD will receive the same MyLink upgrades that Silverado 1500 will get this model year including Apply CarPlay available this fall and Android Auto next spring.

Doesn't the '14/'15 1/2 ton trucks already have this "steering assist" ability? I've read where the '14/'15 adjusts for crown in the road. I've noticed that my '15 doesn't hold a straight line as well as my '11 did. Seems like this feature is adjusting too much. Not that it's bad, just different.

Yay more "safety" things to make people even more useless behind the wheel.

Lovely!

Last week the TCCM started acting up on my truck. No 4WD, no traction control and no Stablitrak.

What's next, no w/s washer fluid & your truck won't start?
