My 2014 6.2 does this, but is most noticeable when letting off the gas in 2nd and 3 gear. I used to think it was the slip yoke but after some research I found that ever sense GM went to BorgWarner T-cases in '08 the slip yoke problems seemed to have gone away. That being said, these trucks still clunk and no one seems to know exactly why. The dealers (following GM's stance) say that clunking in "normal". I have owned and driven many late model GM 4x4's and none clunk/thud as bad as this one. I wish this issue could be addressed as other than this clunk I really like the truck. If I ever figure out what is causing this (trans, t-case, drive shaft, rear end) I will report back on this site.

Yes, and my dealer also said it was normal a few months ago when I was in for service. But now I'm approaching 8k miles and within the past couple of hundred miles, I have been noticing the clunks a lot less, not sure why, maybe it's finally getting broken in?

my 2015 is at 2200 miles and it is getting worse. It does the clunk mostly between 40-50mph during acceleration and letting go of the gas pedal. This is definitely not normal. It is going into the dealer next week, hope they dont give me the run around on this. I had a 2007 z71 4wd 5.3L with 180k miles and it did not do this.

I can tell you , the clunk is not normal. my buddy has an identical 2015 to mine and his does not clunk. I have test driven another 2015 4wd silverado with 4miles on it and IT also did not clunk. Mine is going to the dealer next week for the clunk @ only 2200 miles.

Iet us know how it goes with your truck.

Does any one with a 2015 4wd 5.3 crewcab get a clunk from accel and decel? I have been reading about the slip yoke clunk between lower gears like 2-3rd. but mine does it between 5-6 gear

If it's the slip yoke you should get a clunk in all gears. It would seem logical that your transmission has excess slop (gear lash) 5-6, causing the clunk. It might be the slip yoke but something must be putting it over the threshold. GM will say it's gear lash in all drivetrain components that added together cause the clunk. They have a bulletin published almost annually to explain why they won't fix it.

That is good to hear...did your truck have a pronounced clunk? If so, when was it most noticeable? Thanks.

Yea it did. Like when coasting and then hitting the gas. It would clunk.

Mine does not clunk when I hit the gas, it clunks when i let off the gas.

I guess it may be the transfer case like some people have been saying, going in to service this week we will see what the dealer tells me.
