As of the posting of this short topic, GM's Colorado and Canyon Duramax diesel trucks have not been listed on www.fueleconomy.gov. The site is run by the EPA. Every vehicle in America needs to have its mileage approved by EPA prior to sale. Once approved, the numbers are quickly loaded to the site. GM told GM-Trucks.com directly a few weeks back that all was on track for an October sales release. That is starting look doubtful with just 7 working days left in the month.

The EPA website is just one way we track a new car launch. Typically, the manufacturer is given a half-day, or full day's notice by EPA that its numbers are approved. The Mfg. then issues a press release about the vehicle touting its highlights and fuel economy. The Duramax diesel is expected to earn the highest fuel efficiency rating of any pickup, so GM is sure to put that release out as soon as possible after EPA gives the green light for sales.

Having already asked GM if the October release was still on-track we won't bug our contact a second time today. What do you think? Cause for concern or no?

Not concerned, it not listed on the door sticker anyways.....

...? It will be. Just like gas Colorado/Canyons have EPA figures on the window sticker. EPA numbers don't apply to vehicles over 8500 GVWR. Top Colorado/Canyon GVWR is 6200lbs so EPA testing applies to it.
