2016 Sierra Denali Ultimate

I just read Motor Trend article about the "new for 2016" Denali called the Denali Ultimate. It was describing the differences with Chrome tow hooks (woopie!), power side steps that also move front to back to provide a step up into the bed and a few other tidbits. Will be interesting to see what the upcharge is from the "regular" Denali for the Ultimate.

Whatever they are referring to as "ultimate" should be included as base Denali. As is the base version Denalis have some of the worst looking wheels of all time, save the High Country. Still no option for a Raptor competitor...

Ok, I'm looking to trade my early model '15 Sierra Denali on a new '16 Duramax Denali. Anyone know if the 8-speed will be available with the diesel? Also, will the new LED taillights and slightly different grill be available for the late model '16's? The to buy something off the lot and find late model year changes after the fact.

Diesel will still get the 6 speed Allison

I can't see any difference between my Denali that's arriving next week and the Denali "ultimate" mine is coming with all of the features listed, admittedly I added on some of the features rather than them being standard.

Now I just have to figure out how to mount the Rigid Dually fog lamps in place of the tow hooks

The only difference, GM checked the same option boxes for you that you could have. Ultimate is referring to the MSRP price, not the equipment on the truck.

It is really disappointing that GM, namely the Denali Truck, which is supposed to be GM's top luxury truck is still way behind in tech and features (sans the magnetic ride control - amazing BTW) available in Limited or even platinum or KRanch F150. I am a fan of gadgets and Ford offers way more goods. Keyless ignition, multiple view cameras, adaptive cruise, panoramic roof, massaging seats, Rainsense Wipers (my '07 LTZ had Rainsense wipers for crying out loud!!!) what the heck happened to that option??

Anyway, the argument can be made that the Ford Luxury trucks MSRP higher with all the added features, but when you are north of $60k MSRP this is really splitting hairs. I am a loyal GM truck guy, but the lack of technology has caused my eye to stray a time or two. Come On GM. Almost all these Options are available on Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon. Why are you holding back on the trucks???

RainSense wipers are available on the GM trucks.

So is IntelliBeam technology (automatically turns off high beams when the truck detects another driver coming toward you) which is NOT available from Ford.

I agree about the other features though ...
