Any news updates on the 2017's?

Recommended Posts

I just read where Ford has already released all the data on there 2017 Super Duty's. What's up with Chevrolet and GMC? Are we getting a new Gasser or Duramax. Why does GM keep the public waiting. I'm sure there are mules are running all over Detroit and other areas.

What's up with the 2017 H/D's? I'm ready to trade my 09 in, but am waiting for some data from GM. I can't even find a picture of one that's not wrapped..... :happysad:

I do believe they are releasing a dmax for the 2017 MY from what I remember reading a while back, nothing confirmed though if I recall correctly. They do need to update the gasser or at least offer something with better tq/ hp numbers and keep the proven 6.0 as the base engine

Be patient padawan lol. All in due time. From the VIN cards: https://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vincards/pdf/2017%20Vincard%20LDT%2001-13-16%20r1.3.pdf it appears that the L96 remains for another year however, you will notice that LML is missing from the list. So, a new Duramax will most likely be a factual deal.

They better leave the 6.0 alone and not offer any other gasser options. I just bought mine and don't want to be outdated or tempted any time soon :)

I've searched the interweb high and low and of course there is speculation that they will offer the 6.2 as an option, but I doubt that because of it's construction. However, I have read a few articles/blogs indicated that they may offer the 7.0L as an option. But who knows.

Im sure the only thing you can count on is a significant price increase.

They sure are getting greedy with these high margin vehicles.

Gas is cheap and people have jobs, so its like the late 90's all over again.

3 or 4 years from now watch for big incentives on these types of vehicles when the economy goes south...

Another take on this...if it is Duramax and new front sheetmetal (basically a production ready deal for this summer/fall), I'd say they will autoshow debut at either Chicago or New York. If I recall, the 2010 Chicago show, GM introduced the 2011 HD which went on sale that same summer, and I think the 15 HD was either Chicago or NY but I'm not sure on that one.

I thought the 15HD was the TX State Fair but could be wrong.

If you've seen data on the 2017 Super Duty drivetrain, please share! All I've been able to find are pictures and general information. I've yet to see anything about the drivetrain specs.

Just because the L96 is still there, doesn't mean there aren't any other options...

Yeah, that's true. Good point! Didn't think about that. Maybe the 6.0 will be the base engine, and they'll have another option as an upgrade...kind of like the days of yore, when they offered both the 6.0 and 8.1 :fingersx:

Thanks for the link. Yeah, there's some info there, but not really anything I haven't learned from here http://www.ford.com/trucks/superduty/2017/?fmccmp=lp-future-top-hp-2017-super-duty

Or the 6.2 in a bullet proof block, hot cams, cranking out 450HP and 495 ft lbs..... ah yes, we can all dream can't we.

Or the 7.0....

Ah you know...ever true...just like the new Dmax is missing from the chart, there could be a new gas engine as well missing. Damn they need to unveil this stuff ASAP!!!!

Yep, I'd be perfectly happy with either one of those!! :driving: I bet a "truck" version of that 7.0 would be a torque monster. Heck, I'd even be fine with a somewhat de-tuned (compared to the 1500's), iron block, 6.2 with around 400hp/450tq...

I agree! I'm getting anxious!!
