Killed the Ads in Internet Explorer 11

Recommended Posts

I know that websites make money off ads. However, I do not click on any ads, want to see them or wait for my web page to load because they are slowing everything down.

Finally AdBlockPlus 1.4 was released and solved my problems. It killed all of the ads on this forum and most other web pages that I visit. I am working on a partial solution to stop HTML 5 too. If you use IE 11, I highly recommend that you download this program.

This forum has ads? I have been running Ad blocker Plus for years, using firefox, and running Linux for the OS. Once I went to the dark side, I just can't imagine having to deal with Microsoft, Internet Exploder, all the malware, virus crap, etc..

I can use Firefox, but my wife is constantly complaining about not being able to load web pages due to all the blocking options and individual permissions to bypass them (i.e. bank websites, etc.). I stuck with IE to avoid the constant complaining, but IE 11 is a royal pain in the a$$. Without add-ons, everyone started piling on the junk with HTML video being the worst. The ads on this forum for IE 11 started about a week ago and slowed down page loading significantly.

People still use Internet Explorer?

I had not used it since 2009.

I brought an intel xeon home and firefox went fire raped.

Never thought I'd see the day.

I was then forced to internet explorer, the same routine since win 98...

not so bad.

It may be HDMI audio synching through vid card...windows loops a pagefile dump sometimes, but always wins. Firefox cannot dig that low...

yet. I bet they fix it.

the most vivid video I have ever seen anyway...iexplore..it is still the champ. I hate to admit it.

oh, do not block html 5. If that is a problem...your PC is toasting its retirement at it.

A habit for anyone, if you know how to static ip to your modem, and enable your modems firewall..

all browsers are happy.

I am on 1.6mbit DSL for several years. Not so bad.

I have to use adblock, my net is not big enough.

a followup on the firefox...

something updated.

it also uses html5 like iexplore did.

I guess it takes a little bit to catch up.

I also found firefox can use 64 or 32bit anyhting..

iexplore ignores all 64 bit unless you tell it.

Not sure what fixed firefox. I think a setting in iexplore goes o.s. wide... all software.

I set a 64 bit setting in iexplore

:dunno:

now all good.

it is rather freakish to see how much one xeon can do..
