mine has been doing this for some time now. most likely it's either the fuel pressure regulator or possibly the idle air control. see if the auto parts store can read some codes for you. mine showed fuel pressure regulator code. I have not changed it out yet. Mine starts easily when it's cold, but after engine has warmed up for the day, it's hard to start

Had this happen in my 96 gmc K1500 with the 305 motor. I replaced the throttle body gasket (suspecting a vacuum leak) and my TPS sensor. Voltage tested my IAC sensor and it read out fine. Put new fuel filter in.

Truck would hesitate to start sometimes but once it ran would be fine.

Finally it would crank and crank, but never start. It was my ignition switch causing the problems. See if you can bypass that and if she starts quick and runs good, that is your problem. Problem should be getting worse gradually if this is it.

Also if you turn the key to electronics on only and you don't hear your fuel pump prime, that is another indicator.

Hope this helps.
