Chevrolet introduces four-camera system for '14-'16 Silverado

You must be talking about Mass, I know all about the great money schemes.

Great system - would definitely make life easier for me ... but with all these types of electronics coming to be the past few years, I can't help but think about the younger generation just getting their licenses.

They won't be able to drive a stick, or change lanes, back up, brake, or correct a skid, or pull a trailer without some type of electronic crutch. Guess there's going to come time when the used car market consists of solely middle aged people, since nobody under 30 will be able to drive anything without electronics! Things are progressing at a frightening pace for me.

Guess it's a blessing that I'll probably never be able to afford any of it anyway, so long as I stay in a state that continually steals every dollar they can from me, for "the greater good".:uhoh::(

It has been postponed until June 1:

"Thank you for your email!

We have everything on shore and GM is looking to get everything stock and the line rolled out to the dealers by the beginning of June. Your correct in assuming that the part will work on both Silverado and Sierra vehicles on both HD and LD vehicles.

The camera will be available at the same time, we just passed testing.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions, thanks!

Do you know if this will be the 3 camera (Left/Right/Trailer) or the 4 camera (left/right/trailer/3rd brake), I am hearing conflicting information from my dealer, they supposedly have one on order for me. Last I heard they said there was 200 for May and 500 for June, just hope to get it installed before my trip in mid June.

Do you know if there will be multiple trailer cameras available? Would be nice to install one on each of my trailers

While a nice option, why is it only available for tow mirrors and not regular ones?

Also if you look up a third party like mygig lockpick, which doesn't have one for our model yet, they have up to 4 cameras and they can switch to left and right by the use of the turn signal. And the front camera turns on under 5 mph.

Considering the technology is out there, I would expect them to atleast offer the same level as what is out there.
