Just bought AIRAID MIT off the FS Forums

Should I just stick with the OEM box and swap filter? I don't really care what it looks like under there so that's not an issue. Just want to improve airflow and from what I've read the tube is a huge part of it.

just take OEM air tube out, install airaid your set to go. that's all I did . NOTE if filter is dirty, change it

I would personally keep rocking the OEM filters. Almost all of the major aftermarket drop in filters are either oiled or have fitment issues.

ETA: Super happy with my MIT

We will see once I do some logs..... something is killing the top end of my horsepower curve on my 6.2 and I am not sure what yet. I have a MIT tube and the stock filter and airbox. I noticed on these new trucks they closed up the side of the airbox compared to the GMT900 trucks..... hard to say but this may be part of my loss.

I just installed the Airaid MIT on my 2016 and couldn't be happier. I got a heck of a deal on it from jet.com so I couldn't pass it up. I lefty the factory air filter in as well. Someone on this forum posted dyno charts of all the different intakes on the previous gen truck, including the MIT, and the MIT did just as good as everything else for half the cost. I've only stumbled across that post twice and haven't had much luck finding it again. I would imagine it would have similar effect on the 14+ as well.

The previous trucks had a more open airbox than these do. The one on my 6.2 is much like the airbox my 05 had.... and there was a gain by getting rid of that stock lower box and opening up the fender to match it. I am going to maybe see if I can dyno again here soon and see what I find. I should grab a log tonight or tomorrow.

I installed the MIT yesterday and kept the stock paper filter. I was actually expecting it to be louder more often, but its hardly noticeable during normal driving.

I'd have to agree. After a couple of days using it I've only noticed a slight growl only when I'm trying to pass someone. But I don't mind at all.
