Installing OEM XM satellite radio in 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Class

Recommended Posts

New to the forum. Just purchased a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Classic Duramax diesel. I've decided to install an OEM XM satellite receiver and radio but I am having difficulty finding accurate information regarding the wiring pinouts on the XM receiver, the C2 connector on the radio and the C9 connector on the MBEC. I've been able to get the XM antenna and antenna cable to the XM receiver and the wiring harness from the XM receiver to the C2 connector on the radio and then on to the C9 connector on the MBEC off of a wrecked 2003 Silverado. Before I get the high dollar pieces (XM reciever and radio) I want to make sure that I have the correct pinouts for the 3 connectors in question. The wrecked truck was a gasser and I'm not sure if the C9 connector on the MBEC has the same pin outs or not.

There are only 3 wires on the MBEC C9 connector. Red wire at location B, Orange wire at location E and Blk/Wht wire at location M.

Continuity checks reveal the following:

MBEC C9 (pos. B) Red goes to pin 7 (Green) on the XM Connector.

MBEC C9 (pos. E) Orange goes to pin 16 (Orange) on the XM Receiver connector.

MBEC C9 (pos. M) Blk/Wht goes to pin 9 (Blk/Wht) on the XM Connector.
Also, anyone have a part number for an OEM XM radio that fits this truck?
Any help for this newby would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

no clue I thought they all are wired for it under the glove box minus the antenna

Thanks. Don't think that's the case with mine. Connector C9 on the MBEC is empty and I don't see any empty harness over under the glove box. Wish that was the case though. Sure would be easier.
