2004 Chevy Colorado transmission problem

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 Chevy Colorado and I went to replace the motor and transmission. Once I got everything in the truck and connected to the proper place I ran into a problem once i got into the truck and tried to move it. I had bled the clutch how the manual says to. But once the truck is running without pushing the clutch pedal down you can shift through all the gears and once you push the clutch pedal down with it in gear the truck will move. I have tried to make sure all the air is out of the lines I've went back over myself. Does anybody have any ideas what I did wrong?

Did it say to gravity bleed? BS. One man fills reservior, one man depresses clutch, one man opens and closes bleeder. 1st, have the pedal man press down on the pedal and hold it down. Bleeder guy opens the bleeder till the pressure forces bubbles and fluid out. Close the bleeder and then the pedal man can let up on the clutch. Do this a few (10 to 15) times and you should be good.

X2 Be sure to reward your helper when you finish bleeding the clutch system. I'd suggest a cold beverage.
