2016 GMC 2500 Denali bucket seats

Recommended Posts

Most uncomfortable seats I have ever had. Sent e-mail to GM and they thanked me for my input but does nothing to correct my problem.

Anyone else have a problem with them, just curious if the 40/20/40 seats could be swapped out and look ok.

The leather bucket seats in my 15 Denali in my opinion are most comfortable I have owned and I am not a small person. My previous trucks were 2012 Silverado 3500 LTZ w/ leather buckets and 08 Silverado LT with cloth 40/20/40.

I'm not sure what to say. To each his own. They are 8 way adjustable. I assume you have tried all adjustments?

While I don't have a Denali, I had and SLT with leather and found them to be extremely comfortable. My '16 2500 has cloth seats and I'm very pleased with them.

As Rink said, if you have all the adjustments, keep trying to adjust them. Also if you have adjustable pedals, try that too.

The 40/20/40 seats are the same as the buckets except for the console/"20" portion. That probably won't help your issue. I find the seats the most comfortable of all trucks I've had. Sure, it takes a bit to get them just right, but I set my memory button and ride on. Best of luck getting comfortable!

x2, exact same seat!

I like the seats.

Sounds like most like the seats, think they would work better with a larger person, I am 5'9" at 165 and the tall wide console seems to high for me to rest my arm, almost seems as if it takes up some of the seat area. My 2001 Duramax seats were 2 inches wider and the console was lower and they were very comfortable. My wife is 5'2" and she has to sit on a pillow to drive this truck.

O well, will just have to make them work.

I assume they get uncomfortable after you have sat in them a while? I would think the "most uncomfortable seats ever" feeling would have come through during the test drive. Just curious on your comment "does nothing to correct my problem" what were you looking for GM to do about it? Swap out for 40/20/40 seats? If that's the case I would test drive one with that configuration for an extended drive to make sure they work for you before going through the effort.

Seats are all the same as has been already said.

Something that took me a while to figure out is the rear height adjust actually raises and lowers the entire seat, this makes a huge difference, you actually get the seat height you like then dial in the front/back height then seat back followed by lumbar, there are a lot of adjustments and it takes a while to figure out, once dialed in these seats are perfect!

I'm not thrilled with them. The headrest hits me in the back of the head, causes me to slouch forward. Leaning the seatback back causes a loss of lumbar support so that doesn't work either.

More lumbar would definitely be appreciated.

I'm 6-1, 210.

A difference from my 2004 - I noticed it is no longer possible to tilt the seat pan. Rotating the switch just moves the whole seat forward/up or rearward/down.

The GMT 800 seats (99-07) were the BEST seats for comfort IMHO. The current seats are very good though too. Unfortunately you cannot easily - or safely- replace those seats in the the newer body. You can try adding some plus padding in the form of cushions.

Hands down, better than anything since. I've had an 08 LTZ and a 14LTZ. Neither were as comfy as my 99 GMT800 LT seats

I have had them all and agree as does my wife. The bucket cloth seats in the '01-'07 were as good as it got.

agree - my 04 25HD LT leather were perfect for me - they seemed bigger as well

seems GM keeps shrinking the bucket seat so the steering wheel center is NOT as offset as the older generation trucks - I realize the truck is set up for 3 across the front BUT with $50,000 plus (and almost all having bucket seats) they should have moved the steering column over to the right a few inches and make the seats LARGER and centered on the steering column ... the width of the center storage console is just about as big as the bucket seat ...
