2.25 leveling kit. Absolute biggest tire on stock rim. 285/65/18??

Recommended Posts

On an oem wheel, oem offset, oem width? 33" w/level. Any more and it's a gamble, may or may not rub. personally, I'd go with what is proven to work so you're not cutting up your $1200 tires

With that being said, what would be the best size 33"? On stock wheel I'm leaning towards the typical 285/65/18 but do you know if the 305/65/18 would work with 2.25 level kit. I'm going with the BFG ko2 and the only two sizes I can pick are between the 305 and the 285. I just want to make sure I can get the most amount of rubber under the truck. Is the 305 to wide and maybe would need wheel spacers?

285 is a safer bet than 305s. Some tread patterns have smaller side lugs and are able to squeeze in 305s. Take into consideration weight and "squishy" feel on 305s and whether you tow. Sure, I want a 6" lift and 35s but I also tow 10k. So it's not practical.

Cool. Yeah, I don't tow much right now. I recently saw the price of the 305's and holly crap!!! So yeah it looks like the 285 is the tire. Thanks.

Here's pix of my brand new truck in the Spring of 2014 with 305/60-18 Cooper STMaxx tires. Never rubbed at full lock or any other time. Later pix are with a 1 1/2" level.

Trucks looks clean. Nice to see the 305's fit right. But after pricing out the k02 bfg I'm going to have to dtick with the 285.

Yeah, 305 looks sweeter. Seen these bgf tires have around $200 price difference. I would try different retailers for some rebate/deals.

Thanks for the heads up. I just talked to my neighbor and will be getting them for $916 total for all four. Hopefully mounting and balancing somewhere local is not to much $$$
