XM Traffic,Travel Link, Nav Weather

Ok guys got some questions for you regarding XM Traffic & Weather. My 3 month trial subscription is coming to an end soon and was reviewing the renewal info i got in the mail by XM. Now I know the weather and traffic info is provided by XM but I didn't realize this a separate subscription. I called XM and they said it's completely different from the music packages.

Talked to my dad who who has a '15 Sierra. He renewed his XM and told them he wanted to keep whatever he had. So they gave him XM select for $99/year. Now the weird part is, he is still getting the NFL channel and NASCAR which appears to only be available on the XM All Access package. He is also still getting weather and traffic on his Nav. He logged into his XM account and verified he only is paying for XM Select. Has anyone else just renewed the music and got the traffic/weather too? Did he just somehow get a good deal or has anyone had this happen to them?

Lots of people do see these things but plenty I see at work are not as lucky, seems to be more of a lottery pieces than anything else. You win some and you loose some.

 

I have seen people stop paying and still receive service for a year or 2 afterward.

 

We had our 3 month free trial end 1 week into owning our new vehicle, and every week when SiriusXM called us to see how we liked it we told them we didn't know because it didn't work, it just kept telling us to subscribe. they would smile and say that isn's possible, you are in your free 3 month trial... so we would hang up and go on our way without their services.
