Replaced my door hinge pins yesterday. Now my door shuts perfect without having to slam it and no more door sag & wind noise.

Right same here. I always hit up a car wash and spray down the underside of the truck to wash all the salt off after each snow and couple times a week until the roads are clearish from salt

Just installed a easy lift torsion bar on my tailgate. Avalanche gates are super heavy now this thing is like a featherweight.

Its actually not for an avalanche application (it's for the 99-07 full size GM classic trucks) but with alittle modification, it fit just fine.

So I had a eventful day yesterday. I was driving home (82*) and I'm about 2 miles from my house. I'm going down a hill and I see that my CEL came on, so I reach over in my glovebox to grab my scanner very nonchalantly and check the code. It was a P1258 but it said "manufacture control" no idea what that is so I didn't think it was too serious. Then when I went to go up a hill I noticed the truck felt like it was in a limp mode. It felt like a electronic limiter and not physical so I continued on, just wanting to get it home. So I get to my house and my DIC display lights up "engine overheated" and alarms started going off as if the truck is burning down as I'm backing into the driveway.

I am like oh sh*t wtf did I just do haha. So I popped the hood and found this

So thinking I blew my engine, I am pricing LQ4's as my poor 5.3 is cooling down. But I thought we'll let me fix the leak and see what's what before I write this engine off. Went to autozone picked up and new quick release fitting, popped it on, refilled the coolant bottle with water and crossed my fingers.

I'll be damned if it didn't start right up as if nothing happened. Let it run and topped off the bottle alittle more, cleared the code and went on a test drive...... Drove perfect and was actually running cooler than normal.

It was kinda bitter sweet cause I really want a 6.0L swap but real don't have the time to mess with all that on the DD right now. Bottom line, the 1258 limp mode the truck went into saved my engine and now it's got more miles left when I was sure 220,635 was end of the line.

Anyway sorry for the long post but yesterday was a roller coaster ride and I had to make my post a good one since I haven't been on here in awhile.

Here's a couple pics all cleaned up for the nice weather. Notice the lower valence is all messed up from plowing through snow banks. I have a new black one waiting to be installed once I get some time

Replaced my silver fake lock bolts on the wheels with black ones, changed my oil, replaced my oil level sensor and even had the 1 1/8 socket to remove it, then found a killer place for pics.... it was a good day

We'll finally broke down and bought a cheap set of nerf bars. My mom just had a knee replacement, I drive her around to her appointments and she can't get in the truck very easy. So I installed these today. Let me know what ya think. I really don't like em but they are strictly for function right now and I figure, I'll sell them sometime down the road.

Yeah thanks, thought about getting a really good set but like you I've never been a fan of them. Tore off the OE ones day after I bought the truck. These were $97 shipped so definitely just temporary haha.
