ronburbandy
My 2013 2500hd 4x4 (manual transfer case) has developed a "creaking" on the passenger side immediately after acceleration from a complete stop and right before coming to a complete stop. I have put a wrench on just about every suspension and body bolt under it. I have loosened and retightened upper and lower control arms to see if that would let the bushings "relax", have also loosened and retightened Trans cross member as well to let it settle (it did). Tightened the front crossmember under motor. Checked all front diff mount bolts and sway bar bolts/links. I'm stumped at this point. Nothing so far has made a difference. You can feel it through the passenger side floor board only, when it happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts! 00Silverado4x4
I'd check your brakes and your hub bearings.
sdeeter19555
Oil the locations the torsion bars engage the frame and arm and oil between the leaves of the rear springs... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
ronburbandy
Just checked brakes and hubs when I changed the oil last week. I'll oil the bars and leafs and see if that's the fix all. Thanks for the help.
ronburbandy
No luck so far, sprayed the hell out of the torsion bars and leafs now the leafs are making noise after oiling lol, also tightened all body bolts, and no change in original noise lmao, I feel like I'm going insane, haven't listened to the radio in a month, I just listen to the creaking noises haha. Guess I'm going to pull the lift off piece by piece starting with the upper control arms and work my way back to stock till it goes away.
davester
could it be the body mounts? My truck creaks every time I go around a corner, I need to replace them sometime...
ronburbandy
All the body mounts look like new, nothing that stands out anyways, and it only happens accelerating from a complete stop or just before coming to a complete stop, otherwise quiet as a mouse, but I might try raising the cab enough to grease between cab and body mount just to eliminate them from the eqaution. ronburbandy
Well I lowered the front down 2" , installed cognito braces and downsized tires from 35's to 33's, creaking noise is liveable now except for the fact that now when turning while backing up and going forward there is a pretty good thud right under my feet which wasn't there before, feels like something is shifting around ehich makes no sense but been too busy at work today to mess with it today.
