Hoping to trade my 15 gmc sierra for a 16 chevy 2500 gas

Recommended Posts

Found one pretty much loaded listed at 49,900. About 2500 less than list price, should i expect more deals or push hard for discounts or is this a good price and see what i get on trade? Need to save every where i can, any help is appreciated.

For a reference point, I got my 2015 2500 at the end of February 2015. 6.0L, LT double, Z71, 6.5' bed and I got about $9000 off the $48K sticker and didn't have to negotiate much. The dealer even included a free Line-X bed job. This was not during one of those "Chevy Truck Month" or similar promotionals either. I just saw what I wanted on their website and gave them a call. Took for one test drive and bought. I would think that this late in the 2016 MY game, they would be moving stuff.

I bought my 2016 GMC SIERRS 2500HD SLT, 4x4, Double cab LONG bed. For $49,900. Sticker was around $53,500. Discount for this truck was only $1,000 off. BUt the guy hooked me up. I actually built and ordered it for that price. I would suggest this because you get exactly what you want and not what someone else built the way they wanted it. I wanted bucket seats, dbl cab with long bed which was hard to find.

Less than 10,000 miles on my 15

There is always the option of looking around on the net and finding the pickup that you truly want and have the dealer you want to deal with have it brought to them for you. You can still look it over and test drive to see if it fits you pistol. I have done that with my last 3 vehicles. One came in from out of state. Didn't affect negotiation on final price. No wait times like on an order. Dealer to dealer transfers are common.

Funny, that's what I traded in to get my '16 2500. Good luck.

I have the same Truck and exhaust manifold bolts broke. Both sides leaking. 55,000 miles. They covered under warranty but why wouldn't it happen again? They said bolts broke from stress of expanding and contracting. Bunch of crap

They were not totally nuts. Thermal expansion and contraction, especially with the aluminum heads can lead to this. I am prepared for the worse! One can do it this way if out of warranty and save a ton of money.

If the issue comes up for anyone, there are two ways to tackle this. Dorman makes some superior bolts for the exhaust manifold on the 6.0L. Dorman also makes a neat clamp that can save a bunch of time and money replacing.

Kral also makes similar bolt repair kits and replacement bolts.

I have about 22,000 on my 2015, and the exhaust manifold bolts are still good. I keep and eye on them though.
