Auto Window Switches?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone retrofitted their truck with two step automatic up/down window switches in the driver's door? The only switch that has this is the driver's window, the others are auto roll down only. The switch replacement seems to be very straightforward but I haven't found any information regarding a retrofit/switches.

Do the Denali trucks come with auto window switches? Maybe it's a plug and play replacement?

Thanks!

Mitch

Man, I remember when I was excited to get my first vehicle with power windows!! 1992 silverado with the switches on the side of the door, not on the arm rest. Now we are wanting auto up and down? I am just messing, I really don't care myself but the real problem for me is that my work truck (base model F150) does have auto up on the passenger window so when I am in my chevy I forget and have to think for a second why my window is not working.

I had auto up/dn switches on my previous vehicle and cannot get used to not having them on my '15 Sierra. Eventually I will, but like you, I keep hitting the switch and wondering why my window isn't moving. :nopity:

I thought I had read last year it is only a switch issue and a BCM programming change, but that was almost 2 years ago and I gave up worrying about it.

It's more than just the switches - different window motors with additional wires.

Nobody has done this to my knowledge. Many have looked into it though.

It looks like you're right, I just checked the part numbers on the window motors and the left and right are different with the driver's side being more expensive. Maybe someone can confirm if the wiring is indeed different.

Seeing as the Denali doesn't have this feature then a custom switch would have to be made as well.

The driver window switch cost more b/c it has all the windows and lockout buttons among other items.

The different motor is probably for the anti pinch feature. If it senses some restriction while rolling up, it'll go back down.

Chris White or on here as "GTPprix" has youtube videos showing the auto up works on the K2xx vehicles (I will note it is done via "KeyFob" in his video's)

I hope Chris White or MVI can come in here and give us the official word on the interior switches. btw the caddie GMT900's had auto up on the driver door it was a BCM option it was not available on the Chevy and Sierra's.

Its actually the whole system. The switch, BCM programming (LIN controls) and the regulators are different. I looked into this way back when Global A first came out as I wanted an auto up passenger on I believe my Terrain at the time and no joy.

Chris, Thanks

what's the difference between the keyfob long hold and a long hold on the interior switches?

We were talking about the window regulators, not the power window switches. Also, this thread is about having the auto roll features on the other windows on the switch besides the driver, not about using the fob to roll down.

its about auto up, directly stated from the OP. we are guessing at this point. That's why I requested Chris White come in here and give his 2 cents since he programs some of these features and let us know whats possible and what's not.

As for the keyfob its possible to roll up the windows, not sure why you can't see where I am going with the conversation.

You can see in the youtube video the passenger window auto close's, I am at least hoping for a long hold on the interior switches, as for regulators most the "auto up/down" work is done via the motor and switch and BCM
