Wanting to regear, couple of ?s

Recommended Posts

I have 295 70 18 Trail Grapplers on my 2008 5.3 RCSB Z71 and I want to regear. 4.10s get me very close to factory radios. Will going up to 4.56 help with regaining some bottom end power? I don't care about gas mileage, the truck is driven like 5000 miles a year with no long trips. Secondly I am correct that I just need to buy ring and pinion setup for a GM 8.6 in the rear and GM 8.25 in the front?

I should say I have 3.73 right now

I can't remember the exact formula but you can google it, but there's a formula for calculating the right gear ratio compared to the factory ratio for the tire size you want
