Extended Warranty?

Recommended Posts

Just got my new 2016 Yukon XL Denali. I want to get the extended warranty from GMC. To get it up to 100,000 miles like the previous models. Not an aftermarket warranty. How much did you guys pay and where did you get it? My dealers price was outrageous. Thank you.

If you are talking extended bumper to bumper, I thought the 100K plan ended with 2015s? I have the 100K plan and it cost me about 1400 when purchased in Feb of 2014.

Contact GM and see how it compares with what the dealer quoted you.

I contacted gmpp direct. They offered me 100k for powertrain only $3600 max for engine and $2000 for tranny on my 15 Denali. The cost was $3500. The person failed to tell me my 15 Denali has 100k power train warranty from OEM. But she sure wanted my credit card #.

These three gentlemen sell the GM direct warranty at $150 - $300 above cost.

Heck of a deal. This is the new GMEPP warranty.

The original GM warranty, GMPP (GM Protection Plan), was bought out by Ally Financial during the bankruptcy. It will still be honored by GM dealers, but it will be treaded as a 3rd a party warranty as of January 1st 2016.

The new warranty is called GMEPP (GM Extended Protection Plan). This is what all the dealers are switching to this year.

Give this guy's a call. If buying from outside thier states, you don't pay tax either. Keep in mind that you can not buy an extended warranty outside the state if you live in MD or FL.

Get a quote from each and see how they match up. Based on VIN, thier prices should be 1/3 to half of what the dealership is charging.

Also, read the print on the contract about deductibles. If you service your car at the selling dealer you purchased the warranty from, the deductible is waived. If you live more than 100 miles from where you purchased that warranty, you can request you preferred/selling dealer be changed, thus avoiding the deductible.
