Denali vs High Country which one ?

Recommended Posts

Am researching 2016 Denali and High Country and they seem

pretty close the Chevy a bit cheaper. Does anyone have

an open ion on which is a better choice.

2016 Denali got more FEATURES:

* Magnetic Ride Control, for a smooth ride in any condition

* Triple door seals block outside noise

* Shear and hydraulic body mounts with hydraulic engine mounts to reduce vibrations

* Available Active Noise Cancellation system

* Customizable driver display
* 8" multi-color and configurable

Finally I'll get the High Country :driving:

It really comes down to personal preference on exterior styling and interior color. High Country only comes in one color. Oh, and Denali has magnetic ride control.

The High Country also has these same shared features as the Denali, as Standard issue:

* Triple door seals block outside noise

* Shear and hydraulic body mounts with hydraulic engine mounts to reduce vibrations

* Available Active Noise Cancellation system

* Customizable driver display

GMC markets the Denali as if those two above features are exclusive to Denali and they are not. The Silverado LTZ and beyond share those attributes, too. (I'm not certain about the hydraulic engine mounts) Drove both the 2016 HC 1500 4wd and Denali 1500 4wd...neither truck I drove had ANC, BTW as they were both 5.3's. Very similar in interior quietness.

While I prefer the real quad gauge cluster top center of the HC vs the Denali's virtual gauges for oil, etc; I like the Denali's 8" configurable display, and the red/white/black colors of the Denali opposed to those cheap Aqua hash marks of the Chevrolet. I know it's a Chevrolet tradition they have had for decades, but it still looks CHEEP to me. Always has. Ever since the early 70's and before. One more thing- the HC has ONE interior color. Brown. You better like it or your stuck with it. I'd lean towards the HC a little farther if they offered a black interior. YMMV. Have fun choosing!

I was going to go with the Denali because of less paint on the frontend which ultimately results in less paint chips. Plus I didn't care for the High Country interior color.

This is slightly comical to me.... the only difference comes in visual effects. How much do you want to pay for the looks of your truck?

At $60K+ for a truck I think "visual effects" is very important. The cost between a comparably equipped HC & Denali are about the same.

You do realize that you are talking about luxury trim trucks. Do you think people who buy these trucks buy them for parcticality?

True dat. I didn't mean any offense. I just can't afford the top trim levels and I think my Z71 drives and rides smoother than any previous vehicle I've been in. To the original question of "which is a better choice?" Well that is totally up to you and what you want your truck to look like. Why do you think there are 100 forums about modifying trucks? because nobody is fully happy with the stock one.
