Denali vs High Country which one ?

Recommended Posts

Denali FTW!

Base

GMC gets stock fender protectors, Chevy none

Denali FEATURES:

* 2 interior color options (Chevy HC, poop brown only)

* Magnetic Ride Control (MRC)

* Customizable driver display instrument cluster

* "Denali" bed logo with spray-in-liner option (Chevy HC, regular bowtie)

* Real aluminum trim

HC is a step above LTZ, but below Denali trim!

Just to re-hash what others have said here are the main differences:

  • front end looks
  • magnetic ride control
  • configurable screen in the instrument cluster

Other than that they are pretty much the same (not counting what you think of the High Country leather).

Well I would like to chime in here.

I had a '14 HC 6.2 4x2 White diamond tri coat

I loved this truck plenty of power. I liked the brown leather. A lot of people gave me great comments on the color. The ride was alittle soft and bouncy for my taste but I got used to it. As far as fit and finish very well put together truck. This truck did have the shake to it thats why I no longer have that vehicle.

I have now a '16 Denali 6.2 4x4 with the ultimate package.

This truck is much better in my wife and mine opinion. The interior is black on this truck and its much more elegant. The heated and vented is 100% better. I can actually feel the difference between the two trucks. As far as the ride goes it is a lot stiffer less bounce and body roll. Way better. Not to mention all the extra features this truck has.

I did check out the '16 HC for a day before I purchased the Denali and the overall feel of the Denali is much better. I love that magnetic ride control, Customizable display, Black interior

In the end its up to you. Go out to the dealer and spend some time with them. The final decision is up to you.

What are the differences in the instrument cluster scenes of both.

This is the Denali cluster with the "Technology" theme selected.

HC will have the standard cluster:

I ordered a Denali over an HC for many of the reasons listed above. We have a bunch of hunting land 2.5hrs away, and the Denali makes the trip there a smooth quiet ride. It handles the dirt and rock roads just fine as well. Its the first truck I've gotten out of after a long drive and don't feel like I need to stretch out.

The one thing I see missing from this thread is the difference in brand recognition. People see "DENALI" on the side of the vehicle, and they have a certain belief on what that means about the vehicle due to all the money GM marketing has spent on the brand. This includes people that do not even drive GM vehicles. On the other hand, "High Country" doesn't have nearly the same recognition power. As such, demand for a Denali will be higher than a High Country, which means likely better resale value.

This.

The HC has standard temp/voltage gauges above a small screen (with no themes) as shown above. The Denali has a large LED screen between the speedo and tach that can be configured with different themes and can show much more info than the small screen on the HC.

And the Magnetic Ride Control is just amazing!

I appreciate all the thoughts and openions expressed on this topic.

The Ride is my main concern, the Dash is impressive, and the Front end

is just icing on the cake--so it looks like the Denali for me. Thanks yall.

Take a look at the All Terrain SLT.

Black interior/red stitching/carbon fiber trim.

I love the overall look and finish both exterior and interior .......... HC was also a choice, but as mentioned I just couldn't accept the brown interior.

At $60K+ for a truck I think "visual effects" is very important. The cost between a comparably equipped HC & Denali are about the same.

Got my Denali with 6.2L for $48. Was happy to pay for looks and unnecessary options!
