Well ladies and gentlemen I never got a response to my email at GM customer service and I keep getting nothing but the runaround of "that's normal" from different dealerships so I decided to take the loss and trade the Denali on another manufacturer's truck. So far it has been night and day in that all the issues I had with the sierra I don't have at all with this one. Good luck to all of you with getting your problems worked out! Later...

Ram Sport. and I got somewhat lucky in that their manager had just quit so the new guy quoted me 2500 over trade in price. By the time they realized they made a mistake I already had it in writing. Still lose big trading in a vehicle after only 6 months but I just couldn't take it any more.

that's too bad to hear about the gmc. I have a 2016 that should be here this week to replace my 2014 that has had numerous problems. the reason that I am going with another Chevy is that I have had good luck in the past, and when there are problems if you are a "very persistent squeaky wheel" they will take care of you. you will look like the "bad guy", but they do stand behind their products in my history with general motors vehicle's. good luck with your new truck, change can be a good thing and fun.

Post a pic if you get a chance. Ive always liked the way the sport package looks with the hood scoops. How do you like the 8 speed? And how does the cabin noise and ride compare to the chevy? You should have air suspension on that model.

I shopped Dodge before I bought my Silverado. I found the interior a little lacking plus the dial shifter was strange to get used to. The 8 speed felt good otherwise. Oh and the gas mileage plus it calls for mid grade

Tell us how you feel about the Sport after having been in the GM a while. I am curious.

Good luck on the new truck but I seriously doubt your dealership made any mistake by over quoting the value of your G, they just made it up on the new truck.

Honestly, I felt a little sad leaving GM but I made the same switch. Been a year now and still liking the Ram. Hope it works out for you too.

Up until my 2014, I felt like they stood behind them too. I think I might have had a bad dealer or at least bad service adviser. Area Rep was no better. After exhausting everything short of suing i just called it quits. Sometimes it not with it. I would think the majority of people are happy and I am the exception. GM couldn't stay in business otherwise.

make sure you put it in park, so it doesn't run you over ;)

Good idea for any vehicle!

Actually the rotary dial is a little odd. Getting rid of the column shifter cleans up the truck interior and frees up space. Still odd though, no arguement from me there... :)

I had a 16 Durango Limited as a rental a few weeks ago. I could not get used to that rotary thing although I do agree about the clean appearance.

Apparantly they are having some sort of issue in the Rams and the Jeeps right now with them not going into park or appearing to be in park but not actually being in park?

Good looking truck, enjoy. thank god you didn't go Tundra...

tnchevy, I don't know if they did or not, I got the Ram for $41,945 and they tried hard to get out of the deal the next day.

As far as comparisons.... it is early so take it with a grain of salt but so far the only things I liked better about the gmc was the tailgate that lowered slowly and the step bumper. The 8 speed seems great, the hemi has more torque and horsepower and I love that you cant even notice when it goes between V4 and V8 modes. I don't have any of the driveability issues I had as far as the rough idle, the sluggish transmission, the headlights actually light up bright enough I can see in the dark (what a concept). Yes the interior was a tiny bit better in the denali but it is so small it is barely worth mentioning in my humble opinion. As far as cab noise, I am sure the sierra is more quiet in the cab with all the dynomat they use but I personally never notice it, when I am driving I either have the stereo playing, the AC or heater blowing or the windows down so its a non issue for me. I used to have a little trouble with my IPhone skipping and being laggy on the gmc infotainment system, I have not had that problem so far with the Uconnect system. Like I said, it is still early but so far I am a much happier driver.
