New Garage/Mancave!

Well, things have started moving again in our man cave project; the drywall work is TOTALLY complete! The painting is also essentially finished; and the flooring is done at least for the interior rooms; we were able to cut out the steel bar on the floor to eliminate that trip hazard, as well as make it accessible for a handicapped friend of ours. the epoxy sealing of the High Bay's floor will be done as soon as the weather gets warmer. Also, the first of the gun room's built in cabinets and countertop have been purchased (and the top cabinets already mounted to the wall) the main reason we didn't go all the way to the end of the wall with counter is because we have an existing workbench and computer desk filling those areas in. The opposite end (about 9 feet from the end of the built ins to the other wall) is going to be used as a lounge space with a futon, coffee table, and flat screen TV on the wall opposite of the futon.

Decoration and moving into the gun room has commenced! I had a few Ford tin signs kicking around, as well as bought some Chevrolet ones from the local Hobby Lobby to balance things out! Today I will be moving the futon and coffee table that is currently in our house's spare room into the lounge area, as well as moving the large world map of all of the places our family has been to the wall just above where the futon will go.

Well, we put up more wall decorations this week (including a sign that tips the Automotive wall art balance in Chevy's favor!), including the world map that we have that tells us all the places we have been to in this great big world of ours (points for correctly guessing the song I got that line from) the 3 large railroad signs in the passageway are REAL; the far right one was taken (legally) from the Santa Fe Bakersfield roundhouse when it was torn down in the late 70s. The far left one is a mile marker from the local town of Waverly, TN; it was given to us by a friend who worked for BellSouth years ago. Today, the next coat of wax for the interior rooms went down today (I would show you, but it's still wet at the time of this post)

The next to last piece of our Lounge has been moved in! The last piece is a wall mounted HDTV that will have an OTA antenna outside (the building acts like a giant Faraday Cage, and neither Radio or TV signals can reach any internally mounted antennas) oh, and the inside of the Fridge:

That's dad's American beer; but after they have visited Germany twice, they have started drinking proper German beers like Warsteiner, Bitburger, and Paulaner. I myself don't drink alcohol at all, just doesn't appeal to my taste.

Well, the FINAL PIECE of the Lounge has been bought and installed! This is a 40" Samsung LED Smart TV connected to an OTA antenna mounted on the roof of the building; and amazingly, it gets 23 channels! (It would get more, but I need to turn the antenna towards Nashville where all the transmitters are) we also installed security cameras which you can see in another thread.

Well, we had to do some emergency concrete pouring this afternoon; we accidentally misjudged the length of the AC unit and the location of the disconnect box in relation to the ductwork. We should have our new fence up by April 5th, which means we are close to setting the unit!

I noticed the Army Aviation School diploma in one of the photos, care to share some information regarding it? I ask because my brother in law is an instructor pilot at Ft Rucker and I spent a summer with them years ago and got to fly the simulators after hours.

My dad was a drafted Huey crew chief in Vietnam around 1969-1970; well before your brother in law likely was even born.

The BIL was born, but probably still in diapers. He flew Huey's when he first joined and then moved to the Blackhawk before he decided to not re-enlist after 12 years.
