Fuel pump or knock sensors?

bradterry

Question

Could a failing fuel pump cause a knock sensor code to pop up?? I have cleared the code over and over and it comes back, but I have noticed that the truck glitches like it doesn't het fuel for a second right before the CEL comes on.

No.

What you felt just before the CEL came on was the actual result of why the code was set. Knock sensor will control the timing trying to correct the ping or knock. Are there any exhaust leaks at the manifolds? What grade of fuel do you run?

No exhaust leak, and I use 87 most of the time but I have tried higher octane and it doesn't make a difference. So your saying that the codes are there becuase of a spark knock? I haven't noticed any spark knock or ping

Did you find out what your issue is I'm rather curious but am leaning toward exactly what dougy boy said for1 it makes sense right before you have a CEL come on for a knock comes on the truck glitches I'd say the glitch caused it and fix what the DTC says or CEL or OBD or NFL or LOL haha just kidding but 2 I'd have to go with what dougy said cause he has helped me sift thru the debri of bullshit the different codes can mean and C I'd go with the knock sensors replacement cause it just makes sense any how with out all that other bs I'm very curious as to what you've done to correct it and why Doug asked about exhaust leaks and octane rating care to elaborate dougy boy
