2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X LED Light Bar

Recommended Posts

Looking to put an aftermarket Led Light Bar on the roll bar of my 2016 All Terrain X. Has anyone attempted this yet? I noticed the roll bar is wired from the factory for the GM accessory off road lights. Looking to see if anyone knows what fuse I should tap into and what wire for the fuse, assuming its already wired to a relay. Thoughts??

LED lights should be find to splice into the wiring. I am unfamiliar with how the terrain x is wired and where the switch for those lights are. But id be shocked if the wiring couldn't handle the light bar. It would be pretty easy to test, and worst case scenario you can just use the factory wiring to see where to run the wires for the light bar.

Are you planning on keep factory lights, plus a light bar? If so, just tap into the wires on the roll bar, then wiring is simple and easy and 1 switch turns on everything. If youre getting rid of factory lights, then just splice the light bar wires to factory wires and again your done. I dont understand why you need to check fuses and everything else.

Could be wrong but I think he is saying he has no lights up there and just believes the wires are waiting.

I am unfamiliar but GM seems to have a trend this year that they are not p reinstalling any unnecessary hardware. examples include) The missing second battery tray and possibly the wires for LED box lighting are not present. There is an outside chance there is no factory lighting unless the factory lights were actually installed.

A little off-topic, but does the high-mount brake light on your cab light up when you hit the brakes? I was thinking about getting an A/T X and removing the roll bar and wanted to know if the light up there still works or if it's disabled in the BCM. (I'm assuming your roll bar came as part of the normal ATX package from the factory).

Yes didn't get the factory off road lights. They're a grand for those 2 small lights.

The bar is part of the package and yes the third brake light in the bar works, however the third brake light on the cab is disabled because of the bar. It does still illuminate when you turn the box lights on.

Talked with a tech, the wiring runs through the ecu so it's possible to do but certain pins need to be moved around and then the truck would need to be tree programmed to accept those pins.

Seems odd that it would come from the factory with the bar but not be wired to add the lights easily. I could understand more if you got the bar added on after the truck were built.

Did the tech say whether you can re-enable the cab brake light? I see deals all around me for a new All Terrain X but I would want to pull off that bar and have a normal brake light function.

Is there any more info available on getting the cab mounted brake light to work when removing the light bar. I just bought an all terrain sierra and the first thing I did was remove the light bar/ roll bar. I never gave the brake light a thought until after I had removed it.

Picked mine up off of amazon for $90, can't remember the exact size 40" to 44", but it's 540W and 48000 lumen. The included wiring kit wasn't long enough so I had to rig up my own. Unfortunately I can't upload a pic as the file size is to large.

Do you have a link to the Light bar that you picked up? I would like to add one to my All-Terrain Bar.
